“No Press is Bad Press”

What do the following items have in common: disguise glasses, body spray, whoopee cushions, and CDs of romantic accordion music?  They are all “business expenses” (along with a few items I won’t divulge here) that will be used at the annual Animethon conference this weekend by yours truly.  Über Game Studios was asked to sponsor the console gaming room at this year’s conference (Animethon 17) by supervising gaming action, running serious and ridiculous tournaments, eating candy, and humiliating nerds – which includes us, by the way 🙂  But we’re better than most of the nerd population… at least we shower regularly!

Nevertheless, it is a prime opportunity to provide some exposure for Über Game Studios, hopefully increasing our fan base beyond just friends and family (we love you guys!).  With any luck, Animethon will go well, our console gaming room will be a fun time for all, and we won’t damage our reputations as a local game company.  And if we do end up making fools of ourselves, or find ourselves getting chased out by a mob of angry narutards… well, Über Game Studios should still benefit; at least if the old saying in the title of this post holds true!

Haha, this kinda looks weird, but I’m a local of Edmonton, AB — and I came across your site through Animethon forums. It’s good to see a local game company, I hope you guys do well!

And don’t worry, you won’t get chased out of your room by a mob of angry narutards unless you say something… non-narutard ish to them XD

Anyways, I had a question actually. I was just wondering if you had times and stuff for your main tournaments (mostly SSBB, I wouldn’t mind trying GoldenEye even though it’s been many years since I’ve played it).

We aren’t particularly well-versed in the Narutard dialect. We live in constant fear of upsetting the herd.

Details of the tournaments will be posted in advance on the forums (probably tonight or tomorrow). We’ll also have sign-up sheets in the room. For now, I’ll just say that the SSBB and RB tournaments are on Saturday, the GoldenEye tournament is on Sunday, and all the games will be available for casual play on Friday.

    Thanks for the post, Tracy!
