We’re here, and we’re settled in. Two out of six light bulbs may be burned out, but our hotel room is notably devoid of zebra stripes this year, and there’s a print of Boticelli’s “The Birth of Venus” on the wall. Things appear to be looking up in 2011!
Or maybe I spoke too soon… We have two beds and three people, and because I’m related to him, I’m sharing a bed with Mark. This decision was followed by Mark’s revelation that he didn’t bring pajamas, only something that he calls his “birthday suit.” His birthday isn’t until January, though, so I haven’t the foggiest idea what he could be referring to. I guess I’ll find out tonight.
In older times, when a group of men went on a voyage together, their ship was christened using a bottle of champagne. When three game developers share a room together after consuming a lot of meat during the day, their room is christened in an entirely different sense. Lewis is getting light-headed due to lack of oxygen, and even Venus is refusing to meet my eyes.
We’ll have a surprise for you tomorrow! No, not that kind of surprise – you’ll just have to tune in tomorrow night to find out 🙂
